Formed in 1994, BOSF is an all-inclusive community-based association that benefits the greater Bay Area through fundraising, service, and socializing.

Our Steering Committee Helps Guide The Organization

Erik Greenfrost, Chair

Erik has been involved with the Bears for over a decade, and was International Cub 2011. He joined the Steering Committee in 2019 and is currently the Co-Chair for the Bearrison Street Fair. They work as a teacher and event planner, and as genderfluid she encourages you to pick whatever pronoun you like for him!

Sister Desi Juana Dewitt, Point Nun

Starting in 2006 as a co-founder of the Eureka Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Sister Desi knew they lived to serve the community. In 2008, they transferred houses and moved back home to San Francisco! In 2018 they met Erik Greenfrost, the Chair of the Bears of San Francisco, and Desi helped the organization transition to being a part of SPI, as well as helping launch the Bearrison Street Fair!

Jimmy James

Jimmy James, as he is known in the bear community, has been involved with BOSF for nearly a decade.  In the post-IBR era, he served as Treasurer until the organization joined forces with The Sisters.  By day, you can find him selling Bay Area and Northern California residential real estate.  He resides in the East Bay, and is a huge baseball fan and car enthusiast.  If you’re relocating to or from the bay area, you should contact him for advice!

Larry Rivera

Larry (aka Callbear) was a founding member of the Bears of San Francisco. As a member of the Steering Committee he represents BOSF on the Board of The Leather Alliance. He serves as quartermaster and BOSF lore repository.  For a couple of IBRs, he was tapped to be EmCee. He can often be found driving the Pride leather contingent truck carrying the current year's title holders.
